A professional actor since 2002, Jim Garrity got into the
industry through bites, bytes and bits. Here is the "Reader's Digest"
version.
The bites. Working up the ladder in the food
and beverage industry for eleven years, Jim served as the Regional F&B
Director for a national country
ClubCorporation. While there is a lot to be said for tasting food
and testing manager mettle, like other industries, the business had
changed. Seeing the change, his wife suggested, "Why don't you quit and
find out what you want to do?" Now how many wives will give their
husbands an opportunity like that? Coincidently, his notice was given on
Mother's Day.
The bytes.
Looking for a break from the norm, Jim ventured into the world of Bill
Gates and Steve Jobs. In the midst of his Masters in Computer
Information Systems, he had a revelation of mega-byte proportions.
Follow your passion. Jim started taking acting courses. one thing led to
another...and the next thing you know...
Jim has now appeared in over 100 productions spanning
commercials, industrials, films, print, theater, and other live and
taped mediums. But that still leaves us having to explain...
The bits. An accomplished handyman, Jim is
Dallas' own version of Ty Pennington in ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home
Edition." While he carries and uses drill bits and other tools with
great ease, he provides the same passion and skill... just without all
of the cameras! Check out his latest projects by clicking
